I have 2004 Honda Civic Ex. It is a manual. Recently it start making this loud screeching sound when I turn on the car and it lasts for about 30 seconds or so. Then it also comes on when I have the air conditioner on and I slow down or stop. But after the car gets warmed up and has been driving for awhile the screeching goes away all together. I have tried replacing the belts and that didnt help. Any ideas what it could be?

Possibly the bearings in the belt tensioner pulley. Often the cause of such noises, and a good early warning before it goes up completely. Get the alternator bench-checked at a good parts store atthe same time to eliminate that as a source as well.

Have the mechanic check the ignition system

it around 150$ but it depend where u go too

Yeah always check your state Tint Limit to make sure you are not wasting your money. Also make sure that where ever you go to get your windows tinted that they offer a warranty just in case anything goes wrong with the tinted like it starts peeling, or bubbling. However a good tint will be between $120-$150

Before you do that, check your state laws. It’s illegal to tint your windows in most states.

So I like the gas mileage my car gets and I’m alright with the way it looks. The problem is that sometimes my car just dies on me right then and there. This only happens like once every couple of months but the engine just stops running sometimes. I took it to a car place thing and they said that they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. It’s also hard to start when it’s below 1/4 tank of gas. Do you think I should start saving up for a new car, or do you think I’ll be fine for a while?

Those both sound like good plans. The most likely reason for the sudden dying is the ignition switch, in which case the warning lights will not be on (at least until it is ready to run again). Also, if the fuel pump relay – aka "main relay" – has not been replaced yet you may as well have that done before it gets intermittent on you. At 18 years old most have already been replaced but for the ones still out there it is better to replace them preemptively.

A sensible point to sell the car is when it is time to replace the timing belt. That is an expensive job, often over $500 when the water pump is replaced at the same time as recommended, and doesn’t really add anything to the value of the car. The replacement interval is 90K miles or 7 years.

hondas are high demand reliable cars depending the condition and engine they sell really high I’d say keep it. If its clean and has no engine problems you could easily sell it $1,500+

I have a Honda civic 2007 ( ex coupe black ). My bumper has been a bit loose since , i would say, a month back. I tried to buy some of those pins from ebay and try to fix it with the help of a friend , But the part where you pin in down on the bottom of the Front bumper is gone due to friction with the road.

So my bumper is , a inch detached from the car and you can see it dangling ( not a lot, but just a bit ) .
I want to get it fixed because I got a new job in florida and I am moving from houston next week. But I don’t want to go to honda people because my warranty expired few months back and I don’t have that much money to pay them..My next bet is to go to a regular mechanic. How much do you think it might come out to ?
Thanks.

save your money and just use duct tape like the NASCAR guys.

How valid is this? Has anyone with an 03 Honda had transmission issues? How can you tell if it is on the verge of having a transmission issue. I would need to have this car last me about 4 years.

The 2003 Accord V6 automatic transmission places the car as third most troublesome vehicle in carcomplaints.com. I strongly recommend you find a more reliable vehicle.

I hope you are getting this car dirt cheap because it is going to have problems due to the fact that it has a lot of miles on it.You would do better to buy a car with less than 60,000 miles.

I have just bought a 99 honda civic ex coupe.its a nice looking car but its only got a 4 cylinder.I want a little more power under the hood.I want a cheap turbo or something that can put a little more kick in it.im also kinda on a budget if there is anything that anyone knows about putting power in a car for cheap lemme know

go to turbokits.com and EXPLORE!!!!!!!!

good luck

If you are on "budget" simple forget the turbo idea, it cost maybe $4k at least, for parts, tuning and labor, and you can only expect like 70 HPs extras, for that, more require more money.

Use a car performance simulator to find out what changes can make your Civic faster, gear ratios changes a lot how a car performs.

Try it at http://www.nxgtrsim.com

you can choose 2 of the 3:
cheap
reliable
horsepower

…and i’d never ignore reliable

just buy a sub woofer like all the other old honda civic drivers.

what ever you do keep away from a garret turbo kit, heard too many bad things about them now.
